Your account and agreement
We use your email to verify your access and send sign-in links and an agreement copy. Signing records your full legal name, verified email, the exact agreement and version, your electronic-signature consent, a server timestamp and a receipt identifier.
Account and session records are needed to check whether you have signed the current agreement and may enter the private game. Signing in does not automatically copy your game saves between devices or from itch. Your legal name is not placed on a public player list.
These emails are for your account and playtest agreement. Joining does not subscribe you to marketing.
Basic game statistics
In the website game, we combine counts of location visits, interactions, completed tasks, recorded voice starts and completions, technical errors and approximate active time. The browser adds these into counters in memory; the server adds them to weekly totals by game version, location and type of activity. The totals contain no player, account, browser or session identifier, precise event timestamps, authored choices or individual sequence of actions. They cannot show a player’s path or identify returning players.
We use these statistics only to improve this game. They are available only to the development team and kept for the current calendar week and the previous 12 weeks. Statistics use no tracking cookie or persistent analytics ID; your browser stores only your preference. Counters are sent without account cookies or a page referrer. Hosting providers still handle network information such as IP addresses to deliver and secure requests; this is not copied into our statistics tables or joined to player accounts.
You can turn basic statistics off in data settings at any time, without affecting game access. We respect earlier explicit declines and browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Basic statistics are not collected on sign-up or agreement pages. This feature applies to the website game; existing itch builds retain their separate optional sharing setting.
Optional individual play histories
If you turn on sharing, we collect game events such as your build and era, places visited, tasks and interactions, authored dialogue choices, stone completion, save or load outcomes, and approximate active time spent playing or reading. Random player and session identifiers connect these play sessions to your player account so we can understand a player’s experience across visits.
We use this information to improve navigation, pacing, reliability and game design. Your legal name, agreement and sign-in records are held separately from optional gameplay events. Reports and aggregate gameplay summaries are available only to the authorized development team; player identities are not public.
We do not record your screen, microphone, every keypress, typed dialogue, private messages or the contents of your saved game. We do not collect activity in other apps or websites.
You can play with sharing off. Change your choice on your data settings page or in the game’s play-data setting. Turning it off stops future optional collection; previously collected events remain until their retention period ends unless deleted earlier.
Feedback you choose to send
A feedback report includes what you write and the game context shown in the feedback form, such as the build and current scene. Reports go to the private development inbox. Please avoid including information about other people that they would not want shared.
Storage, cookies and retention
A necessary session cookie keeps you signed in. The game stores saves and preferences in your browser; deleting that browser data can remove local progress. Keep a copy of your Keeper Code if you want to move or safeguard a save.
Optional gameplay events are retained for 90 days. Account information is kept while private-playtest access is active. Signed agreements and the identity and signing records needed to verify them are retained for two years after private-playtest access ends, unless a legal requirement requires longer retention.
Our service providers process data to operate hosting, secure storage, sign-in and email delivery. Access to the development inbox and signing records is restricted to authorized staff. We do not sell player data or use it for targeted advertising.
Questions or changes
Contact lull@datableservices.com to ask about your data, correct account information, request a copy or deletion, or end your participation. We may need to verify your request and retain the agreement records described above. We will explain any records that must be kept.
